Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner "We're doing our best at co-parenting"

The A-list couple separated over a year ago, but continue to live on the same property and share responsibilities for their daughters Violet and Seraphina, and son Samuel.

?We do our best,? the actor and producer told ET?s Lauren Zima at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film, The Accountant. ?We try our best.?

Affleck shared that there is one parenting duty he's not so great with - homework!

The 44-year-old star added, ?My areas of expertise with the kids [are] spotty at best,? he said. ?Not homework. I only play an accountant in the movie. In real life, I'm badly wanting.?

Homework may not be top of his good duty list but his children's work is always close to his side.  Asked about his trailer must-haves when he?s filming, the Academy Award winner noted they revolve around the youngsters.

?[It?s] mostly stuff from my kids,? he said. ?It's the only personal stuff I have -- the drawings and art. It's a good place to hang up the latest artwork to come out of school.?

With The Accountant hitting theaters on Friday, Affleck will next be seen in Live by Night, which he also co-produced with Leonardo DiCaprio, and next year?s Justice League film.

The highly-anticipated superhero flick has just wrapped shooting and Affleck is looking forward to seeing how the film?s received.

?It's fun, in one word,? he said. ?I hope you like it, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.?
