The Beatles' Ringo Starr and Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart are working on a musical film, Deadline Hollywood reports.
The film, called Hole In The Fence, is based on the duo's own coming-of-age story about a band formed in a mining town. David Harris, who is currently adapting a graphic novel for Stewart, will write the screenplay.
The former Beatles drummer has previously said that he was working on a musical to open on Broadway, but suggested that it could end up as a musical. Stewart and Starr will be executive producers on the film.
Starr most recently worked with Stewart on his 17th solo album 'Ringo 2012' in January. It includes guest performances from The Eagles' Joe Walsh as well as Benmont Tench from Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.
'Ringo 2012' was produced by Starr himself and also features Beach Boys collaborator Van Dyke Parks and Alanis Morissette co-writer Glen Ballard.
Although the LP was released within weeks of former bandmate Paul McCartney's 'Kisses On The Bottom', Starr insisted that there was no rivalry between the pair.
'Ringo 2012' was the follow-up to his 2010 album 'Y Not', which featured his former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney on the track 'Walk With You'.
