According to various media outlets across Britain, the upcoming nuptials of Princess Beatrice's royal wedding later this year will not be broadcast live by both the BBC and ITV.
The Princess is set to marry property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in late May or early June of this year.
According to the Independent, the BBC has said that it would provide “news coverage” of Beatrice’s nuptials across BBC services. The online publication also said that the BBC is offered rights to broadcasting royal occasions for free.
ITV, who screened the wedding of Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie in 2018, also said that they would definitely not be covering the wedding despite Eugenie's marriage having commanded an audience of three million.
Speculation is rife that their decision to not televise the wedding is due to the unflattering media coverage of the alleged involvement of Prince Andrew, Beatrice's father, in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal earlier this year.
The Duke of York was removed from his public duties after what was labelled a “ disastrous ‘ Newsnight interview about his association with Epstein.
