Award winning documentary on man’s need to change

‘The Need to Grow ‘is a documentary movie, first released in 2019,  about the truth mankind needs to face – we have roughly only sixty years of farmable soil left on Earth, leaving us with no other option than to rethink how we use our natural resources.

Directed by Rob Herring and Ryan Wirick, the movie sheds light on the importance of regenerative farming practices and the impact they can have on the health of the planet and its inhabitants.

The film takes viewers on a journey through the current state of our food system, which is heavily dependent on industrial agriculture and chemical inputs. The need for sustainable farming practices is highlighted by the dire consequences of our current food system, including soil depletion, loss of biodiversity, and environmental degradation. The movie shows how these issues have real-world consequences, including food insecurity and climate change.

The documentary also showcases the efforts of individuals and communities who are working to address these issues through regenerative agriculture. One such individual is John Kempf, a farmer who has developed an innovative approach to farming that relies on natural inputs rather than synthetic chemicals. Kempf's methods are shown to be effective in increasing soil health and productivity while reducing the need for chemical inputs.

The film also features the work of urban farmer Erik Cutter, who has transformed a small plot of land in Los Angeles into a thriving urban farm. Cutter's efforts demonstrate the potential of urban agriculture to address issues of food insecurity and provide healthy, fresh produce to

The movie serves as a call to action for individuals, communities, and policymakers to take action to address this critical issue.
