Ashanti's new album set to be a new chapter of 'greatness'

Ashanti has denied reports her sixth studio album will be called Chapter VI, but insists it's an "incredible" record. The Foolish singer's sixth studio album is set to be released before the end of the year (16), two years after her previous effort Braveheart. And the star was quick to dispel chatter that claimed to have details of the title of her new offering."It's really confusing.

I have no idea where that came from," the singer smiled to Billboard. "The next album is absolutely not called Chapter VI. But the music on there is incredible. I'm really excited. I can't wait for people to hear the new music."New Yorker Ashanti revealed she has recorded a bank of 15 or 16 songs, and is pleased with the work she's done so far.

"I'm probably in love with about six or seven of them, like IN LOVE in love," she gushed. "I'm working with different people... just kind of going places I haven't gone before. Being an adult now, times are different. People want more of you, you know."

The Grammy Award-winning singer has been recording the new material mainly in Los Angeles, working with hitmakers Ty Dolla $ign, DJ Mustard, J-Roc, Hit-Boy, among others. And she loved the west coast environment so much that her planned week long stays often extended into a month. "I catch a really great vibe out there for some reason. Whenever I'm out there I go super hard," she laughed. While she may not ever return to her triple platinum success of debut album Ashanti, with the self-titled recording debuting at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart upon its release in 2002, she admits experience has made her grow and become more certain of herself. "I would put myself in the lane of being extremely focused and about to embark on even more greatness," added the 35-year-old.
