Ariana Grande references her exes in new song

Ariana Grande has released a midtempo song referencing her exes, including former fiance Pete Davidson, Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, and the late Mac Miller.

In the song titled "thank u, next" Grande references past break-ups and expresses gratitude for what she has learned from the relationships.

In the first verse of the song, she sings:

Thought I'd end up with Sean
But he wasn't a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete, I'm so thankful
Wish I could say, "Thank you" to Malcolm
'Cause he was an angel

The 25-year-old also sings about her new love "Ari", and says "she taught me love, she taught me patience.”
