Murray was distraught Wednesday when he discovered that his 'smelly trainers', together with his wedding ring, had been stolen – the tennis ace revealed that he attaches his ring to the shoelaces when he plays and had left the "damp, sweaty" trainers under his car overnight to dry out so they wouldn't "stink the room out".
What followed was a plea by the Grand Slam-winner on social media for any assistance in getting the shoes, but most importantly the ring back. Calling himself an ‘idiot’ his video was posted and re-shared by his legions of fans as well as The Tennis Podcast.

And thanks to the efforts of his fans, the shoes, AND the ring are back! Murray has yet to say how they were tracked down and returned to him but he did thank his fans via Instagram.
