Amy Schumer read an open letter addressed to those who walked out of her stand-up show in Tampa, Florida during her performance in New York. The Inside Amy Schumer star faced a chorus of boos and an estimated 200 people walked out of her show in Tampa on Sunday (16Oct16) when she turned political, talking about gun control laws and blasting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump by calling him an "orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster".She addressed the walkout when she returned to the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night by reading an open letter to members of her Tampa audience.
?Dearest Tampa, I?m sorry you didn?t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now," she said, according to People.com. "How could I think it was OK to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?? After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy. Both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people - who?ve been tricked into it!?
She then jokingly apologised for describing Trump in such a way and promised never to utter the phrase again, but caused laughter when she immediately repeated it. Pop icon Madonna opened Amy's show with a raunchy stand-up routine in which she joked she would perform sexual acts to anyone who voted for Trump's rival.
She was returning the favour to Schumer, who had opened three of Madonna's shows at the famed venue last year (15). During her Sunday show, Amy reportedly invited one man onstage to ask why he was voting for Trump and told anybody who was upset by her comments that they could leave.
