Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, teamed up with the #Girlgaze project to speak out on eliminating violence against women.
In the video, she says she's not a victim while she reflected on her experiences with domestic violence; earlier in May she filed for divorce from Depp after 15 months of marriage. She claimed that Depp had abused her throughout their relationship.
“As a woman having gone through this on a public stage…in the public arena that I did it in, I have a unique opportunity to remind other women, ‘This doesn’t have to be the way it is. You don’t have to do it alone. You’re not alone.”
Heard and Depp settled their divorce in August, where Depp agreed to pay $7 million, which Heard donated to charity. Heard withdrew her allegations and request for a restraining order.
