Algoa FM party's in celebration of their big win!

Algoa FM has tons to celebrate and that is exactly what the team did on Friday, 20 April.

With a carnival like spirit in the air, following the massive win at the 2018 Liberty Radio Awards on Saturday last week, the team at the station were treated to a well-deserved celebration.

Being awarded the Commercial Station of the Year means that Algoa FM is recognized as the number 1 station in South Africa. It is also the first time that a station outside of Gauteng is named Commercial Station of the Year.

In addition to winning the 2018 Commercial Station of the Year Award, Algoa FM also received recognition in the following categories, Best Community Project, Best Stunt/Promotion/Event and Best Daytime Show.

Algoa FM’s largest family mass participation event, the Big Walk for Cancer has been recognized as the number 1 community project amongst all radio stations in South Africa. It also shares the award, Best Stunt/Promotion/Event with Jacaranda FM, who were recognized for their billboard campaign.

Best Daytime show was awarded to the Algoa FM Top 30 Show, which is hosted by Wayne Hart. Hart tweeted the following message, along with a picture of his award, to all his followers who applauded his win, “I’ll only get to touch and feel it on Wednesday… but here it is! Thank you for all the well wishes! Keep moving forward towards the finish line! #LibertyRadioAwards2018”

With so much already mentioned, it is almost impossible to imagine that Algoa FM could have more to celebrate.

Dave Tiltmann, the Managing Director of Algoa FM, whose favourite motto is ‘Fun is a Serious Business’ has been inducted into the 2018 Radio Hall of Fame. This is a phenomenal achievement and one that the entire Algoa FM team is extremely proud of.

With that being said, the team know that all the hard work and dedication is motivated by Algoa Country. As Alfie Jay, the Operational Director succinctly stated, “we are both proud and thankful to our loyal audience who continually inspire us to new heights.”
