Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin has been formally charged in New Mexico with involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the western film 'Rust'.
42-year-old Hutchins was shot dead in October last year while filming the western. Baldwin claims he was told the gun was safe and that it fired without him pulling the trigger.
He has vowed to fight the two counts against him, with his lawyer calling the case a "terrible miscarriage of justice".
Ms. Hutchins was a graduate of the American Film Institute and had been named a "rising star" by American Cinematographer magazine in 2019.
The 21st of October 2022 marked one year since her tragic death. Baldwin took to Instagram to pay tribute posting a picture of Hutchins on set with a caption that simply read, ''One year ago today....."
