South African rapper, songwriter and record producer AKA has blasted South African Airways on Twitter for not playing local music.
The 31-year-old celebrity muso did not hold back as he called the airline “disgraceful” for endorsing international artists like Michael Bublé while ignoring local talent.
According to IOL this is not the first time the rapper has complained to the airline about their music. In July of 2018, he suggested that their playlist feature 100 per cent South African music, and while the airline responded and thanked him for his suggestion, they clearly did not take it seriously.
Dear @flysaa why do you play ANYTHING that is NOT SOUTH AFRICAN ???? in our planes. You are the FLAG carrier airline of our country, furthermore you are a STATE OWNED entity. Please explain to us why I am listening to Michael Buble as I disembark? Disgraceful.
