At the height of his fame in Hollywood in the 90’s, Richard Gere was a sex symbol and heart throb to women the world over thanks to movies like Pretty Woman, American Gigolo and An Officer and a Gentleman.
Nowadays, at the age of 68, leading roles in Hollywood movies have stopped coming his way, but, he has stayed in shape and has a head of hair, albeit it completely white, that would shame many a younger man. Once famously married to Cindy Crawford, Richard is reported to have secretly married Spanish publicist, Alejandra Silva, some weeks ago in a low key civil ceremony. It is being reported that the couple celebrated their union with an extravagant party held over the weekend at Gere's estate in Pound Ridge, New York.
At 35, Alejandra is 33 years his junior, they met in 2014 and share a love of travel and humanitarian work. Gere, a known Buddhist has been outspoken about China’s occupation of Tibet, which has not endeared him to the powers that be in Hollywood. Since meeting Richard, Alejandra has converted from Catholicism to Buddhism.
