The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their 2017 inductees on Tuesday, 20 December 2016.
Artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first recording.
The artists for the performer category are Electric Light Orchestra, Pearl Jam, Joan Baez, Journey, Tupac Shakur and Yes. The performer category inductees are chosen by over 900 voters and fans.
Nile Rodgers was recognised with an Award for Musical Excellence.
The class of 2017 will be inducted at a ceremony and performance show in New York on 7 April 2017.
Artists were also rejected on this year’s ballot, these artists included Bad Brains, The Cars, Chaka Khan, Chic, Depeche Mode, Jane’s Addiction, Janet Jackson and more.
