The U.S. Coast Guard has reported that an aircraft searching for the missing Titanic tour submersible in the Atlantic Ocean has detected underwater noises from the vicinity of the last known location of the vessel.

With an estimated 40 hours of oxygen left, time is running out to find the five passengers on board the OceanGate Expeditions’ submersible,Titan. They are, the CEO and founder of OceanGate Expeditions Stockton Rush, British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman Dawood.

As stated by Pubity on Instagram, “ These sounds have been reported as ‘banging sounds’ and remotely operated vehicles have been dispatched to these areas. Unfortunately so far these searches have “yielded negative results” thus far but are ongoing.”

The submersible craft is just 263 inches x 110 inches x 98 inches in size. The vessel lost contact with its surface crew on Sunday, June 18 as it was exploring the underwater gravesite of the Titanic.

It is reportedly impossible to escape from as the passengers are bolted into the belly of the underwater craft.
