President Jacob Zuma says South Africa has made some progress at the G20 Summit in Mexico, but there is still "a long way to go" to advance Africa's development goals.
Zuma said in a statement from Los Cabos in Mexico on Tuesday that more work is still needed to reform international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, so that they can become more responsive to the needs of the developing world.
South Africa is the only African member of the G20, a group of the world's major economies.
Zuma has since flown to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to attend the Rio+20 conference on sustainable development.
