President Jacob Zuma has appealed to students involved in the #FeesMustFall movement to be patient while government addresses its concerns regarding free higher education.
Answering questions in parliament today, Zuma said that he wants to release the interim report of the Commission that he had established to probe the feasibility of Free Higher Education and Training.
He said Commission chairperson, retired judge Jonathan Heher, submitted an interim report after probing three of the proposed eight sets into which the Commission's work had been divided.
Responding to a supplementary question about what impact the protest may have on the 2017 university intake, President Zuma appealed for the Commission to complete its work so that a lasting solution can be found.
