President Jacob Zuma has arrived in the Seychelles for mediation talks on Madagascar.
Presidency spokesperson Mac Maharaj says the talks will be managed by the SADEC troika for politics, defence and security by member states Zambia, Tanzania and Troika chair South Africa.
In early June, the SADEC summit in Angola asked the Troika to call an urgent meeting between Malagasy leader Marc Ravalomanana and Madagascan High Transitional Authority President, Andry Rajoelina.
Zuma is accompanied by State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele and Deputy International Relations Minister Marius Fransman, who is Zuma’s special envoy on Madagascan issues.
