Lawyers for Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will approach the Cape High Court Tuesday in a bid to speed up a defamation case against suspended ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.
Zille's spokesperson, Jordan Hill-Lewis says the case goes back more than two years.
He said the actual merits of the case will not be heard, but the court action is a bid by Zille, in her personal capacity, to force Malema to submit court papers.
Hill-Lewis says its taken a long time to get to court because the respondents have refused to file their responding papers.
The matter relates to comments that Zille had appointed concubines to her provincial Cabinet.
