Zille to attend spy-tapes handover

Thursday is D-Day for the National Prosecuting Authority to hand over the so-called Zuma spy-tapes to the Democratic Alliance.

DA leader, Helen Zille, says she will be on hand in Pretoria for the hand-over.

Last week, the Supreme Court of Appeal turned down an appeal by president Jacob Zuma to prevent the tapes from being handed over.

The tapes allegedly provide the basis for the NPA's decision not to proceed with hundreds of fraud and corruption charges against Zuma, following the conviction of Durban businessman, Schabir Shaik.

In terms of the Appeal Court order, the tapes will be reviewed by retired judge Noel Hurt, to review documentation to determine what had formed part of confidential representations by Zuma to the NPA.
