Transformation in the workplace is moving very slowly.
According to the latest Employment Equity Report from the Department of Labour released on Thursday, although to a reduced extent, Whites continue to be over-represented at the top levels, relative to the size of their economically active population.
The Equity Report finds that Black representation in the workplace starts becoming more significant at the lower levels especially at the Skilled Technical level.
It says African males are the second most represented group after White females at the Top management level in the country's private sector.
The Employment Equity Report says Africans are the most represented group in all tiers of government and State Owned Companies, with males being the most preferred at managerial levels.
