Three suspects were arrested for possession and dealing in counterfeit money after they bought clothing with it in Phalaborwa.
Spokesperson for Limpopo police Captain Mamphaswa Seabi said the police received a tip-off from a community member about three women who went on a shopping spree in the CBD with counterfeit money.
The police acted promptly and rushed to the said shops where they waited for the women at the door.
The women tried to run and hide but they were arrested.
Seabi says they confiscated more counterfeit notes, to a total value of R900.
Police did not divulge how much money they had already spent.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
