Limpopo police are investigating five counts of rape, three of kidnapping, attempted murder and a business robbery.
This is after five women were allegedly gang raped inside a mortuary in Malipsdrift on Sunday.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says two women are walking along the R37 to visit a friend who works at a local funeral parlour when six men kidnapped them.
The women were taken to a mortuary where they witnessed the suspects shooting and injuring one of the employees.
Mojapelo says the suspects continued to a second mortuary, with the women, where they found another three women and six men.
He says the men were severely assaulted with the butt of their firearms until they were unconscious.
The suspects then allegedly gang-raped the five women before stealing their personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of money from a safe.
A worker who reported for duty discovered the victims and alerted the police.
