A 76-year-old woman has been killed after being attacked by a large dog in a residence in Middelburg in Mpumalanga.
ER24 said paramedics responded to the scene shortly after 09h00 on Monday after receiving reports of the attack.
“Upon arrival, paramedics found an elderly woman lying inside the home,” said spokesperson, Russel Meiring.
“Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous bite wound which left her in a critical condition.”
Meiring said that “treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an effort to stabilise her vital signs.”
He said she was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
