A woman was killed in a collision on the R300 between Van Riebeeck and the Stellenbosch arterial on Saturday morning. Another person was left with minor injuries.
Spokesperson for ER24 Werner Vermaak says when paramedics arrived on the scene they found a vehicle completely ripped open in the front.
A woman was lying a few meters away from the wreckage and showed no signs of life. She was declared dead on the scene.
A man, believed to be the driver of the vehicle, was found walking around on scene. He was assessed by paramedics and treated for cuts and bruises.
The cause of the collision is not yet known. It is believed the vehicle drove into the pedestrian bridge.
