A female hiker was airlifted from the Magaliesberg mountains near Hartebeespoort in Gauteng, after she was injured in a fall on Saturday afternoon.
Netcare 911's Shawn Herbstsays their emergency operations centre received a call for medical assistance, after it appeared that a 43-year-old woman had tripped, sustaining a fracture and dislocation in the process.
He says due to the nature of the terrain, a specialised air ambulance was called to the scene.
Herbst says paramedics treated and stabilised the patient before she was flown to a medical facility in Johannesburg.
