Wife shoots husband 4 times, thought he was an intruder

A Ficksburg farmer who was shot four times by his wife after she allegedly mistook him for an intruder is doing well and is walking around in the Hoogland Medi Clinic in Bethlehem.
Fifty three year-old Frik Fouché was shot at his farm Waterval just after 11pm on Saturday.
He was allegedly unable to gain entrance to his house and used a blowtorch to cut open a security gate.
His wife Karen, a pharmacist in Ficksburg, was awoken by the noise and allegedly fired four shots after he failed to identify himself.
Hoogland Medi Clinic spokesperson, Karien Colett, says Frik, who was shot in the chest and stomach is in a stable condition. His wife will meanwhile made a second appearance in the Ficksburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday on a charge of attempted murder.
