There wasn't an empty seat in the Durban Magistrates Court where the mother of baby Siwaphiwe and a man made an appearance on Monday.
Sibongile Mbambo and Phumlani Mbokazi face charges relating to the hijacking and kidnapping of the 1-month-old child.
Mbambo told Judge Mohamed Motala that she didn't know why her legal representative was not in court.
The case was postponed to Wednesday, so that a paternity test could be conducted to determine who little Siwaphiwe's father was.
A third suspect, a woman, who was taken into custody after police intercepted a car at Marianhill early on Sunday morning, has not made an appearance yet.
Reports that the baby girl was taken by two hijackers in the Durban CBD on Friday, sparked a massive police search that also involved members of the community.
There was anger and disappointment when officers found the newborn with her mother.
