The Webb Ellis Cup remains safe after thieves broke into the offices of the South African Rugby Union (SARU) in Cape Town on Monday.
Two well-dressed men, wearing gloves, were captured on video footage going into a building that accommodates two companies, including SARU in Plattekloof.
The suspects stole whiskey, eight laptops and five signed rugby jerseys before making their way to the second company where they stole 60 laptops.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that the Webb Ellis trophy was safe.
A manhunt has now been launched for the two suspects, who drove away from the scene.
Two cases of business burglary are under investigation.
