A wage agreement for the private security sector which has resulted in an eight-and-a-half percent increase for workers, has been welcomed by the Federation of Unions of South Africa.
Professional Transport Workers Union spokesperson Reckson Baloyi says Fedusa affiliates together with a number of additional unions form majority representation in the private security sector, and therefore the terms of this agreement will be applicable for all workers in the sector.
The negotiations were aimed at ensuring workers were able to cope with escalating living costs and the three-year agreement was signed on Tuesday.
