McCain Foods South Africa has announced a voluntary recall of specific bags of frozen sliced green beans and stir fry.
The company says in a statement it has confirmed that small glass fragments that came from a light fitting have affected a limited batch of products.
The company says stringent measures have been put in place to address the situation and a formal block has also been issued across their cold chain and relevant networks, and all potentially impacted stock has been removed from retail shelves.
In addition, retailers and foodservice customers have been formally notified of the current return procedures in place.
Foodservice customers can return products to their relevant distributors in exchange for a credit note.
