KZN Transport says the victims of that disastrous crash near Ladysmith are yet to be identified.
Eight people, including two children, were killed when a Porsche and Toyota Fortuner collided head-on on the N11 on Saturday night.
Preliminary reports revealed that a Porsche with no number plates was allegedly speeding when it collided head-on with a Toyota Fortuner at around 10 pm.
Ntuli said the Porsche caught alight and its four occupants burnt beyond recognition.
Four other people, two adults and two children, travelling in the Fortuner also died at the scene.
Traffic officials are trying to find out who the owner of the Porsche was.
An ID book in the SUV revealed that the family was from Zimbabwe.
Two children believed to be as young as 3 and 6-years-old were travelling in that vehicle.
