Vavi out on bail following arrest for speeding

Former Cosatu secretary-general, Zwelinzima Vavi, has appeared in court for speeding.

Vavi tweeted on Monday that he was accused of driving at 182 kilometres in a 120 kilometre zone and not at 207 kilometres as reported by some media.

He was nabbed on the R-24 freeway near Edenvale in Ekurhuleni on Sunday morning.

Vavi says he will be back in court on the 4th of November when he intends to make representations to court.

He was granted bail of a thousand rand.
