US president Barrack Obama reportedly owes the SA National Roads Agency Limited more than 300 in E-tolls.
That's according to the trade union Solidarity which has joined the chorus of opposition to Gauteng e-tolls.
Solidarity spokesperson, Dirk Hermann, posted a copy of a receipt for the vehicle he says was Obama's limousine on his twitter feed.
He told Algoa FM News that they had obtained a photo of Obama's limousine license plate and then went to check the information on the Sanral system.
"We were quite interested in whether Sanral will bill Mr Obama's limousine. So what we did was, we took his limousines' license plate, we punched that into Sanral's system and we found out how much Mr Obama owes Sanral, ofcourse in connection with e-toll, and to our surprise indeed Mr Obama owes Sanral over R300," says Herman.
He added that they have decided to follow this up closely.
"Mr Obama has 90 days to pay his e-toll bill. We will definitely follow this to see if this specific bill is paid. I'm quite sure Mr Obama did not register for e-tolls, so I don't think he got any discount."
