Five suspects are expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates Court on Thursday following their arrest on two separate farms this week.
Police followed up on information on Tuesday about illegal firearms being kept on a farm in the Klerksdorp area and swooped in with a team assisted by Organised Crime.
On the farm, three men, estimated to be in their forties were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
During the arrest, police confiscated an unlicensed hunting rifle, shotgun, revolver and pistol as well as ammunition and what appeared to be a tiger skin.
North West police then followed up on further information and closed in on a farm in the Hartebeesfontein area where two more suspects were arrested.
On the second farm, police found approximately 100 rhino horns, four tiger carcasses, four unlicensed firearms and 708 rounds of ammunition.
The pair also had American dollars to the value of R45 900 in their possession.
They will all appear in court on Thursday and will face several charges.
