Two police officers have been killed, and another has been critically injured, in a head-on collision on the N2 at Winkelspruit, outside Amanzimtoti in Kwa Zulu-Natal.
Provincial transport department spokesperson, Kwanele Ncalane says two policemen, driving in a private vehicle, and a police patrol car crashed on Saturday, after one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle.
He says the policemen in the private car were killed on impact, while the police member in the patrol car was critically injured.
Ncalane says it is possible that heavy rain in the area could have caused the accident.
