Two minor boys who were not under adult supervision tragically drowned on Friday, in a dam in East London, Eastern Cape police said.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mluleki Mbi said police are investigating inquest dockets following the drowning of two boys aged 12 and 13.
Mbi said the incident took place at Grinaker dam in NU2, Mdantsane, East London at around 3 pm on Friday afternoon.
“According to information, it is said that the boys were swimming in this dam when one of them got into difficulty and the other tried to help when they both drowned. The boys were without adult supervision during this incident,” said Mbi.
