Two men are due to appear in court on Monday for the brutal assault of a nurse during a carjacking in Limpopo on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, said the men, aged 28 and 32, were arrested in Malumele following a high-speed chase between SAPS members and officials from a private tracking company.
He said the vehicle overturned with the fleeing suspects inside. A woman in the vehicle died while the two men were arrested.
Mojapelo said the nurse was found unconscious on the side of the road near the Mutshindudi River in the Thohoyandou policing precinct by a passer-by.
Police have opened a case of carjacking, attempted murder, and possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
"The swift reaction of these members which led to the arrest of the suspects is highly commendable," said Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe.
