Two of the three men who have been on trial in the Estcourt cannibalism case have been found guilty.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court on Tuesday convicted traditional healer Nino Mbatha and Lungisani Magubane of the murder of 24-year-old Zanele Hlatshwayo last year.
Mbatha was acquitted of an initial charge related to the handling of human tissue, while another co-accused, Khayelihle Lamula, has been acquitted of all charges.
A fourth co-accused is said to have taken his own life before the trial began.
The National Prosecuting Authority in KZN said sentencing proceedings are expected to get underway on Wednesday.
