Three men accused of beating a man to death will appear in the Bafokeng Magistrateâs Court in Tlhabane on Monday, North West police said.
The three aged 68 and 76, all thought to be farmers, allegedly severely beat a 24-year-old man accused of stealing cattle in Luka on Thursday.
Lieutenant Colonel Pelonomi Makau said Phokeng stock theft unit responded to a complaint of stock theft at Mogono section cattle post, in Luka, near Phokeng.âOn their arrival, they found the 24-year-old deceased still unconscious after being severely beaten lying inside one of the suspectsâ vehicle with body injuries and his hands tied.
He passed away at the clinic,â said Makau.
She said police investigations linked the three suspects to the fatal assault.
Meanwhile two men have been killed and three others injured in an apparent mob attack in Fleurhof, west of Johannesburg.ER24 says when its paramedics arrived on the scene at the block of flats they found fire services battling a blaze that had taken hold on one of the flats.
Spokesperson, Russell Meiring, says on assessment, paramedics found the bodies of two men lying a short distance away from the flat.
The remaining three men were found with bruises and lacerations over most of their bodies.He says local authorities later told paramedics that men had been attacked by the community after they allegedly stabbed another man.Police are investigating.
