Two people were killed and three injured when a small plane crash-landed onto a car in Centurion, ER24 paramedics and the fire brigade said on Wednesday.
"[The plane] basically went straight down," Tshwane emergency services spokesman Johan Pieterse said.
"The two male occupants died on impact."
ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said when paramedics arrived on the scene on the R55 next to the Swartkops race track, the small aircraft was in pieces.
Three men in the car hit by the plane suffered minor injuries and were treated for shock.
The Centurion-bound lane of the R55 was closed to traffic. The Pretoria-bound carriageway was congested as motorists slowed down or stopped to look at the wreckage.
The plane was believed to belong to a training centre nearby. (Sapa)
