Two female Johannesburg Metro Police Department officers were killed last night when a suspected drunk driver crashed into them at a roadblock in the city on Monday night.
JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, said that the accident occurred at around 9m when the driver of a double cab bakkie also ploughed into three stationary cars.
He says three people in one car were seriously injured and had to be extricated from the wreck, while the occupants of the two other vehicles including two other female JMPD officers sustained slight injuries.
Minnaar says the driver of the bakkie was arrested while blood samples were also taken.
