Trial date set for "right wingers"

Two men arrested in connection with a plot to kill ANC leaders at the party's conference in Mangaung last year will go on trial in November.

The treason trial of Mark Trollip and Johan Prinsloo has been set down from the 4th of November in the Free State High Court.

They also face a charge of conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism while Prinsloo faces an additional charge of the unlawful possession of ammunition.

A third suspect, Martin Keevy, has been ordered to undergo another 30 days psychiatric evaluation until his next court appearance in September.

The state has also withdrawn charges against a fourth accused, Hein Boonzaier.
