Police management has ordered the evacuation of 2500 trainees from the SAPS Tshwane Training Academy following an explosion at an adjacent business site.
Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the decision to evacuate followed expert advise.
She said the training academy was not affected, but the evacuation was a precautionary measure.
A venue operational centre comprising various experts has been established under the command of the Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, Lt Gen Tebello Mosikili.
