Twelve police officers, including 10 from the Durban organised crime unit, have been granted bail of five thousand rand each in the Durban Regional Court.
They were arrested on Wednesday by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate on charges that include murder and racketeering.
In June, 18 policemen were arrested on 71 charges, including 14 of murder, 28 of unlawful possession of fire-arms and ammunition and four of housebreaking.
The 12 who appeared today included KwaZulu-Natal Hawks boss Maj-Gen Johan Booysen.
A total of 30 police members will appear in the Durban Regional Court tomorrow in connection with the IPID probe into Durban's organised crime unit based at Cato Manor.
