Toddler sexually assaulted and beaten to death with stick

A 29-year-old man will appear in the Hlabisa Magistrates court in KwaZulu Natal on Monday for the alleged murder and sexual assault of his 2-year-old stepdaughter.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele says the child was assaulted with a wooden stick on the 14th of October after she messed herself.

He body was taken to a private morgue when she stopped breathing.

Staff at the morgue realised that the child was not only physically assaulted but also sexually.

The suspect went into hiding for nearly a month and was arrested over the weekend.
