The Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni, who planned to host a live Twitter question and answer session on Monday, postponed it, 15 minutes before it was due to start. The Q&A was to discuss the South African economy.
The DA, however, expressed their concern over the Minister's rants on Twitter and suggested that he stop tweeting.
This follows a serious of Tweets last week which was described by many South Africans as a meltdown.
The DA's spokesperson for finance David Maynier said Mboweni needed to get a grip and start acting like a finance minister.
He said the 'meltdown' is presumably related to reporting on the humiliating 'smackdown' following his call to close down South African Airways.
Maynier said a good place for the minister to start is to stop tweeting and focus on the millions who are unemployed in this country.
