Thuli wants invite to Parliament to discus Nkandla

Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela would like to speak to Parliament about her thoughts behind her findings on the upgrades at President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead.

Her spokesperson, Kgalalelo Msibi, told Sapa in an e-mailed statement on Monday that in the event that Parliament debates the matter, Madonsela would like to be invited to present her findings and the process that led to the thinking behind the report.

Madonsela had found that Zuma and his family unduly benefited from security upgrades to his private KwaZulu-Natal homestead.

Zuma said this weekend that he would not repay the money as Madonsela recommended in her report, saying that he's done nothing wrong as he did not ask for the security upgrades.

The DA condemned Zuma's remarks, saying that its seeking legal advice to see if the courts cannot enforce compliance with the Public Protector's recommendations.

The ANC said on Monday that the Nkandla issue was the shortest agenda item at the meeting of the party's national executive committee this weekend.
