Two Nigerian men and a South African woman appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, for allegedly beheading a dog while it was alive, and eating its meat.
The Stilfontein SPCA in North West says the three were granted bail of R2,500 each.
Spokesperson, inspector Suzette Kotzé says the court ordered that they not be allowed to keep any animal on their premises, dead or alive, and not even have meat in their fridges, like frozen chicken.
She says they were ordered to report to the police station three times a week, and to hand in their passports.
