Detectives in Khayelitsha in Cape Town are investigating the murder of three men who were shot and killed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, says the deceased were sitting in a car in Mbekweni Street when shots were heard from nearby.
She says the bodies of two people were found inside the vehicle and another outside.
"The ages of the victims are estimated to be between 30 and 40 years," Brigadier Potelwa said.
The identities of the deceased have not been released, while the motive for the shooting will form part of the police investigation.
Potelwa says Khayelitsha police have opened a triple murder docket for investigation.
